Q.  Does the firm handle exclusively labor and employment law matters?

A.  Although the firm’s focus is on labor and employment law matters, the firm also handles certain other types of matters that the attorneys have experience handling, such as civil litigation  (personal injury/negligence cases); business disputes; estate planning; and real estate.

Q.  Is the firm accepting new municipal clients?

A.  Yes, the firm has a steady municipal client list, with many of the municipal clients having been represented by Attorney Sweeney for many years.  The firm would welcome the opportunity to explore the establishment of new client relationships with municipal employers in Massachusetts, either as general counsel, labor counsel or special counsel.

Q.  Will the firm provide legal representation and counsel to non-municipal employers?

A.  Yes, the firm has a proven track record of representing private employers in employment-related matters and general business litigation.  Such representation of small to medium-sized businesses may be in the nature of regular representation or may involve only periodic consultation and counsel.

Q.  Do the firm’s attorneys represent individual employees in employment-related legal matters?

A.  The firm does represent individual employees in private sector employment cases.

Q.  What types of private employment matters will the firm consider handling?

A.  The firm will consider taking matters involving employment discrimination; employee discipline/wrongful discharge; violations of wage payment laws; non-competition and related agreements; and severance agreements.

Q.  Will the firm provide any initial consultation on prospective legal representation matters?

A.  The firm will provide an initial no-fee consultation on private employment matters in order to assess whether the matter is something the firm would handle.
