Mission Statement
Attorney Sweeney has devoted his career of more than twenty-five years to the representation of clients in litigation and labor relations matters. For more than two decades, he has focused his efforts on behalf of municipal employers in the area of labor relations, employment matters and general litigation. He has earned an enviable record of success and client satisfaction, marked by positive outcomes at the bargaining table; in state and federal administrative agencies; and in state and federal court.
Attorney Sweeney has also developed a practice representing small to medium sized employers, providing advice on compliance with applicable state and federal law; handling of employee disciplinary matters; and representation of these private employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies.
Attorney Sweeney tailors his approach to meet the needs of his clients. He is equally comfortable as either an aggressive advocate or as a representative engaged in a more collaborative approach to labor relations. As the client, you can expect him to recognize your objectives, and equally important, to recognize the manner in which you want your objectives achieved.
Attorney Sweeney believes that the best way to represent employers is to maintain consistent communication with them and to give sound advice prior to problems arising. In this way, many potential problems can be avoided through prudent decision making. However, there will be times when litigation results. Attorney Sweeney is committed in those instances to protecting the rights of his clients and will utilize his skills and experience as both a litigator and negotiator to bring about a favorable result.
Attorney Sweeney brings a pragmatic and creative approach to the bargaining table and to the various other legal matters which he handles on behalf of municipal employers. His sound advice, personable demeanor and extensive experience will leave his clients with a sense of comfort, even during the distressing times often presented by contentious labor relations and litigation.
